Digital Millenium Copyright.... Whatever

Just wanted to let you guys know....

Times are changing, music is changing, the internet is changing, but the music industry is remaining
static. By this, I mean the battle between copyright advocates and pirates is still in full swing, and music blogs such as this one are being targeted for copyright infringement. I've been reprimanded by Blogger / Google several times for uploading copyrighted material for you to download. Because of this, I've been strong-armed into posting only YouTube videos and links. However, the plan is to continue releasing mixtapes with my favorite songs, and in the next couple months, have my own independently hosted website. In the meantime, continue listening to these tunes, tell your friends, download the mixtapes, and wait for the real site.

Here's a little piece of ear candy to dig; a bonus track off of Eminem's Recovery.

Airborne Angel

This is one of the best trance songs I've heard in a long time:

Pharaoh's Dance

I've been getting in a little trouble lately for uploading free songs for you guys to download, so for now you can listen to them via lala until I find a way to circumvent the system. This site is free (ish), legal, and worth a look. If you make an account you can stream entire albums for free. Awesome.

In the meantime, you NEED to listen to this song. Kick back for a good twenty minutes; do some homework, read a book, and LISTEN to this song. This album completely changed jazz. The first time I heard this song, I almost fell out of my seat. It's that good. Just be sure to listen to the whole thing. It can be daunting. Check it out.

Ocean

I'm hanging out here at the beach with my family, meditating by the ocean and getting my life in order. It reminds me of this song by John Butler. Take a listen, he's a fantastic musician.

I'll be posting a folk / songwriter playlist in the next few days. Enjoy

Also, If you're into underground hip-hop, check out the new record by Freeway and Jake One called "The Stimulus Package". This is hip-hop that's actually legit and not mainstream recycled garbage. Listen and see for yourself:

Charlie Hunter Is A God

I've been listening to a lot of Charlie Hunter lately. So should you!

Stream Congratulations

You can stream Congratulations free from MGMT's website. Check it out and buy it if you like it. It's a gutsy move from the band the counter piracy.

Wavin` Flag

K'naan, born Keinan Abdi Warsame is a Somali-Canadian musician and rapper. K'naan, means "traveler" in the Somali language. He spent the early years of his life avoiding death and listening to the hip-hop records sent to him from America by his father, who had left Somalia earlier.
I actually got a chance to see K'naan open up for Matisyahu last summer. He has an amazing, warm presence and plays with a djembe drum on stage. His band is great, and he, for the most part, proclaims a message of peace and love, such as this track "Wavin` Flag."
Check this out and let me know if you dig K'naan. I hope you do.

Who's Your Daddy?

This is a SICK remix of Benny Benassi's "Who's Your Daddy?" I use it to open up a lot of my shows. Unfortunately, I have no idea who remixed it, but it's killer. Check this track out, and then put it immediately into your dance playlists.

Who's Your Daddy? download

I'm working on a cool dance mix that I'm hoping to upload to podcast so you guys don't have to download some fatty, 10 minute download. Stay tuned for that.

Sunrise: Last Summer

I wrote this track last summer of 2009. Unfortunately, my computer was stolen before college, and I never got to master or revise this piece. I still like it however, and I hope you will too. Leave a comment, tell me what you think!
